We leave for Italy Tuesday evening for both vacation & business. In addition to strolling the streets of Rome and wandering through the Umbrian countryside for two weeks, we will also be running two full-day photography workshops for local photographers in southern Umbria. Our day of shooting will consist of sports photography at a local football (soccer) match and then venturing over to the village of Narni to capture residents in medieval regalia during their annual medieval festival which runs during the first two weeks of May. A second full-day workshop will be cover digital processing and workflow techniques at the Babel Academy in the city of Terni.
I have images below of what my travel case looks like for this trip. I transport my camera gear in a Pelican 1510 rolling hard case. I split the case into two layers as can be seen in the photographs below. I carry memory cards, lens hoods, filters, batteries, battery chargers and laptop in a separate carry-on backpack. When it comes to travel and transport, I only trust Pelican hard cases to protect my equipment. Also, if something bad does manage to happen to the equipment, Pelican replaces it all to me. See more information in my post on Pelican hardcases.
