Eric, A superb capture of softly lit green foliage, preserving the contrast of all the shades varying from bluish to golden tints. Your perfect exposure allowed the darker green shadows to enhance the sharp detail of leafy shapes. No ‘black holes.’ This kind of indirect diffuse forest lighting is a real challenge.
The dynamic composition of your strategic diagonals in the exaggerated vertical format gives vitality to the otherwise placid scene. You also took care to ‘stage’ the depth of receding layers of bacground foliage in the valley.
The perky red blooms, emphasizing the diagonal, create the perfect focal point of interest for all the monochrome.
I don’t know how much of this was captured in the raw image or modified afterwards. But one thing is for certain. YOU envisioned this artistic capsule for everyone to enjoy – particularly me. I would like to see a print sometime.
